The day we’ve all been waiting for has finally come as the finale of the Big Brother Naija Lockdown season 5 is here with all the thrills and suspense.

The show opens with some beautiful performances from the music band, Cave Men, Magician; Babs Cardini and Fireboy DML who performed some of his hit from his sophomore album, “Apolo”.

Ebuka takes us back with some highlight of the last 70 days in the Big Brother House which gave us some nostalgic feeling.

After the highlight, Ebuka takes us into the house with Biggy having his final speech with the remaining 5 housemates and it was so touching to watch. Immediately after Big Brother’s goodbye speech, Ebuka quickly sprung into action as he announced the first housemate to be evicted on the finale and it’s no other than Vee who looked excited to have made it this far in the show as she left with head held high with gratitude.

After Vee’s eviction, Ebuka introduced Afropop star, Rema as the next performing act of the night and he killed it as expected.

Ebuka returns back into the house to announce the next housemate to be evicted tonight and Neo happens to be the second housemate to be evicted. There are now 3 finalists left in the house; Laycon, Nengi and Dorathy and the winner of the Big Brother Naija Season 5 would emerge from anyone of them.

Fireboy returns back to the stage to perform some more of his hit songs and it was beautiful to watch.

Ebuka sends a shock wave across the country after he announced Nengi as the 3rd housemate to be evicted tonight. Many didn’t see this coming as we all thought she would give Laycon a tough challenge for the first position but it happens not to be the case as Dorathy surprising made it to the top 2.

Big Brother announced to the 2 finalists to kindly vacate the Big Brother house as their stay in the house has finally come to an end. With a smile on their faces, Laycon and Dorathy held each other’s hands as they both walked out of the house leaving behind a plethora of memories.

Ebuka introduced the surprise acts of the night and it was the DMW superstar, Davido and Mayorkun who first performed “Betty Butter” together and Davido performed his latest single “Fem” for the first time on stage.

And the moment we’ve all been waiting has finally arrived. Ebuka invited the two finalists, Laycon and Dorathy on stage. Ebuka asked Dorathy to reveal the male housemate she liked in the house and with a little persuasion she mentioned BrightO. Ebuka also asked Laycon about what happens between him and Erica if he regrets anything and he said no.

Juice wrld mother Carmela Wallace penned an open letter about her late son’s “struggles with addiction, anxiety and depression” to mark World Mental Health Day 2020.

In the letter, Wallace writes of her son Jarad “Juice WRLD” Higgins, “I think he felt comfortable being honest with me because I never judged him. I recognized that what Jarad was dealing with was a disease and I know he truly wanted to be free from the demons that tormented him. As a parent, I believed early on and supported Jarad having access to counseling. I encouraged him to always share his feelings.”

Wallace also revealed that she has established a new website, Live Free 999, in the hopes that it will be “a resource to those that are struggling.”

“My message to the parents and children is simple. You do not have to suffer alone. You do not have to be ashamed of your mental health struggles. There is help. There is a way out,” Wallace continued. “If we can help even one Mother and their son or daughter through our work here, Jarad’s death will have meaning and his positive, loving, creative spirit will endure.”

Jarad and I were always close. We liked to play pinball together. We had long conversations about his future and about the world in general. But like any mother and son, we had our issues. Jarad came from a family where academics were the highest priority, so I wanted him to focus on school, but he was always more interested in music. His teachers would often tell me that he was extremely gifted, but that he was always focused on his music. I’d often find him in the studio in the afternoon, pursuing his dream. He was laser-focused. In the end, Jarad won the battle and I agreed to let him take a year off after high school to work on his own music and his vision as Juice WRLD. When his career took off, I left my job in quality management to join his team. Juice wrld recorded music every day, in every city he found himself in. He amassed literally hundreds and hundreds of songs. The lyrics and melodies all made from his beautiful mind.

Juice wlrd and I often had frank discussions about his struggles with addiction, anxiety and depression. I think he felt comfortable being honest with me because I never judged him. I recognized that what Jarad was dealing with was a disease and I know he truly wanted to be free from the demons that tormented him. As a parent, I believed early on and supported Jarad having access to counseling. I encouraged him to always share his feelings.

I have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of love following the loss of my son juice wrld. His loving spirit which is communicated through his music has touched so many people. I launched Live Free 999 so that perhaps his death could mean something for other mothers whose sons and daughters are dealing with the same kinds of issues that my son struggled with.
