Nigerian Footballer dies during friendly match

Footballer slumps and dies during friendly match in Oyo

He was resuscitated by medics after he slumped and later taken to the State Hospital, Ijaye where he passed on.

The Media officer of the Gateway FC, Moses Ojewumi, confirmed the incident on Monday in Abeokuta.

Ojewumi quoted Gateway United coach, Akeem Busari, as saying the late player “didn’t show any signs of illness when he came for trials and didn’t die at the camp as it was erroneously reported in some quarters.” (Nigerian Footballer)

Media officer of the Gateway FC Moses Ojewumi gave his thoughts on what happened.

He said, “Usman Yusuf who came on trial played the first half in a friendly for Gateway United FC against Sliema Wanderers on Sunday afternoon, during half-time he showed bad signs and Gateway United team doctor attended to him.

“It was later in the night, a call came in from camp that he had suffered a relapse, swiftly he was taken to State Hospital, Ijaiye where he gave up the ghost.” (Nigerian Footballer)

Two NYSC members has tested positive for covid-19 in Kano. Hajiya Aisha Tata the NYSC coordinator in the state confirmed that two out of 826 posted to the state has tested positive for covid-19.

She made this known while briefing newsmen after the swearing ceremony of the 2020 batch ‘b’ stream A corps members.

She said “As you have seen, we have provided all the necessary prevention facilities and ensured that all the corps members used them.

“We have also ensured comprehensive fumigation to ensure that the camp remains a clean environment for the corps members,’’

3. Shehu Sani raises alarm as bandits allegedly kidnap scores on Kaduna-Abuja road.

Former Kaduna State lawmaker in person of Shehu Sani, former Kaduna State lawmaker has reported in Sunday that an incident has happened in the state whereby some bandits have blocked the Kaduna-Abuja road also kidnapped scores of persons.

Shehu Sani passed this information to the people through his Twitter handle whereby he urged the northern governors to prioritize insecurity situations in the region. (Headlines)

4. Ex-Eagles star Obodo kidnapped again in Warri.

According to the latest report form the PUNCH, an incident has happened at along Refinery Road, Warri in Delta State whereby former Super Eagles player who his playing the role of a midfielder, Christian Obodo, has been kidnapped by unknown gun men.

The report claimed that, Christian Onome Onovawakpoyeya, Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, Delta State Command made this known yo the PUNCH that Obodo is a 36 year old player who ho stop to buy a bananas on Sunday before he was kidnapped.

Onome Onovawakpoyeya said “Obodo was kidnapped at about 5pm on Sunday around Ishaka Hotel just along Refinery Road”.

While speaking, she added that “He was with his girlfriend when he was abducted. They both stopped by the road to buy bananas’.

Onome Onovawakpoyeya explained further that those gunmen that kidnapped him ate yet to make any demand in other to release him.

It was gathered by the PUNCH that this will be the second time that will kidnapped Obodo.

This happened in the year 2019 on June 9 when he was on his way to church in Warri. (Headlines)

After he was kidnapped, the police men tried all their best to track down the abductors to Isoko which is outside before they later found him and arrests some suspects.

5. Nigeria confirms 152 new cases of COVID-19, total now 65,148.

The Tribune reported that the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has recorded another new cases in Nigeria which was announced through their Twitter handler on Sunday night revealing that the country has recorded another 152 new cases of COVID-19.

NCDC wrote on their Twitter page “On the 15th of November 2020, 152 new confirmed cases were recorded in Nigeria.

“Till date, 65,148 cases have been confirmed, 61,073 cases have been discharged and 1,163 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory. (Headlines)

The reports claimed that the 152 news cases are found in 8 States in Nigeria which are listed below with the number of cases reportedly found; Lagos (136), Kano (4), Niger (3), Ekiti (2), Kaduna (2), Ogun (2), Taraba (2) and FCT (1).

The Governor of Ondo state who was reelected by the people in the state in person of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu has described Ayodele Fayose who has ruled as a Governor of Ekiti for two times as a man who his determined and a dogged man that focus on whatsoever he pursue.

7. Why man sets self, girlfriend ablaze in Benue.

According to the Nation, more facts begins to come in as a man whose name his Nicodemus Nomyange has set himself and his girlfriend Shininenge Pam on fire.

According to the reports both of them died on Saturday whereby the incident occurred around Inikpi street, high-level area of Makurdi.

Nomyange and Pam dead bodies have been taken to the Federal Medical Center Makurdi and deposited by officers of the Federal Road Safety Corps ) FRSC.

While investigating the matter, it was known that Nomyange has been dating Pam for some time. They source also learnt that Nomyange is a married man who has children and still proposed to marry Pam whereby dge reportedly turned the man down because he has married and she prefers to marry a single man.

 

Due to this, the source claimed the, Nomyange to Pam apartment and set the house on fire by locking every one inside.

During the incident, Nomyange died immediately at the scene but for Pam, she gave up the ghost when they are taking her to hospital for treatment.
